About Spin for Craig

On October 11, 2019, a fellow athlete, friend, father and husband, Craig Alguire, M.D. passed away following a stoic four-year struggle with brain cancer. #LIVELIKECRAIG

Craig inspired others with the way he met the challenge of his terminal diagnosis the same way he lived his short but rich life-with dignity, poise, and an amazing sense of humor.

His greatest joy were his four children Allison (14), Connor (11), Ella (10), and Mia (6). Craig was indescribably proud of them. Nothing made him happier than watching them excel in academics, the arts and sports.

Craig graduated with honors from Grand Haven Senior High School in 1995. He enjoyed participating in band, and he also played on the varsity soccer team and was captain of the swim team. An accomplished swimmer, he earned All-American honors as a member of two qualifying relay teams. Craig was a gifted natural athlete. In addition to being an All-American swimmer, he regularly competed in triathlons, 5ks and the Reeds Lake Triathlon.

A true Spartan, Craig proudly attended Michigan State University, graduating with honors from MSU’s Lyman-Briggs science college in 1999. Craig graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 2003. He stayed on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan, where he was selected for the great honor of chief resident.

After completing his cardiology fellowship at the University of Michigan, he and his wife Staci moved to East Grand Rapids, where Craig joined a cardiology practice that became part of Spectrum Health.

The Grand Rapids location spin classes will be led by the following instructors:
