ABOUT WATERLOO G+G NEW VENUE!!! RIDE THROUGH THE WILDS OF LOWER MICHIGAN’S LARGEST PARK, WHERE PRISTINE FORESTS, ROLLING GLACIAL TERRAIN, AND SPARKLING LAKES PROVIDE A BREATHTAKING BACKDROP FOR THE GRAVEL CYCLING
Given Waterloo Recreational Area’s glacial history, the bike courses will vary from rolling hill climbs and swift descents to winding curves and rare straightaways. Some roads will be paved. Others may be patched. Most will be dirt and rock. Expect to get dusty. Expect to get grimy. Expect to have the time of your life!
Please note, after two years of selling out we have outgrown our previous start/finish location. The race will now start and end at Robin Hills Farm in Chelsea, MI. It’s close enough to the old routes that the courses will be familiar for those of you who have raced with us before while at the same time allowing us to grow in the coming years.

A Memorial Day Weekend tradition for many, Bayshore Marathon kicks off the summer marathons.
The Traverse City Track Club started in 1962 with a small but group of running enthusiasts coming together each week to see how fast and far they could run. Over 50 years later, this 501c3 non-profit organization has grown into northern Michigan’s largest and oldest running club, with its membership roster currently reaching 900. Centered in the five county area of the Grand Traverse region of the northern lower peninsula of Michigan, the Traverse City Track Club prides itself in hosting premier running events and programs, including the annual Bayshore Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K Events each May since 1983. The Bayshore event has enabled the Traverse City Track Club to provide financial support in the form of grants, scholarships, and work group gifts. This amount has reached over $2 million to date. All of this results from our mission to promote and encourage health, fitness, fellowship, community service, family recreation and competition via running and walking for all ages and abilities.
Half Marathon distance usually fills up in a couple of hours but there are spots remaining in the full. It’s a beautiful out and back, even if you’re walking it!

“To be unbound is to be untethered and unrestrained. The term’s pre-12th century origins illicit notions of liberation and escape. Those who are unbound embrace life without limits or restrictions. The word owns many definitions and derivations, but each one ultimately reaches the same finish line.
To be unbound is to be free.
It’s the spirit that 4,000 riders bring with them to the Flint Hills of Kansas for one weekend each spring; the spirit of an event that began with 34 participants in 2006 and now stands as the “World’s Premier Gravel Event.” And so it is fitting that the event and its organization, the one embodied by a limitless ethos that calls Emporia home, now has a name to match its ferocious spirit.” -Emporia Gazette

TriMillennium is one of West Michigan’s longest-standing multi-sport events and a favorite among many local athletes. Located in the beautiful Millennium Park in Grand Rapids, MI, TriMillennium offers an Olympic and Sprint distance triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike. Our Olympic race features a 1,500-meter swim, 24.8-mile bike, and 6.2-mile run. Our Sprint distance race features a 750-meter swim, 12.4-mile bike, and 3.1-mile run. Relay options are available for both races.
The inland waters of Millennium Park are typically calm and pleasant, the surrounding roads follow the rolling terrain for the bike course, and the paved trails through the park are flat and fast, making TriMillennium a great race for the elite athlete looking for a summer “A” race, a beginner athlete looking to complete their first triathlon, or a primer race for those prepping for the MiTi half or full triathlon later in August. With professional timing from Trivium Racing and a full complement of volunteers and support on race-day, TriMillennium is a race for everyone.
TriMillennium is owned and operated by Bridge Street Ministries, a Christian urban youth ministry in Grand Rapids’ West Side, working to support the spiritual, academic, and social development of inner-city youth, leading them with a vision of hope and restoration and believing that they will be the future leaders of our community. 100% of the proceeds from TriMillennium will go to support this important work. The Resolution Run tradition is about more than just miles; it’s about milestones. Every year, we gather to celebrate the progress we’ve made and the goals we’ve achieved, all while embracing the endless possibilities of the coming year. Make memories, make resolutions, and make the Resolution Run a cherished part of your New Year’s Eve tradition!
The 41st Annual Reeds Lake Resolution Run pulls over 400 runners and walkers for a 4.0-mile journey around Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids, MI. It takes place on New Years Eve at 3:30 PM, starting near the EGR Middle School and Finishing in front of Collins Park.
While this race is simply a fun tradition to many people, its history started back in 1982 by the late Joe O’Brien, who owned and worked for Classic Race until last year when he sadly and unexpectedly died. Though well-hidden to the outside world, Joe also sadly struggled internally.
Joe co-founded Genesis Sports, an EGR running store and worked diligently to build his race timing business, Classic Race Management. Through Classic Race, Joe enthusiastically supported thousands of runners each year and founded the Reeds Lake Triathlon and the annual New Year’s Resolution Run. For over 30 years Joe coached diving at East Grand Rapids High School and all across the region.
Throughout his coaching career he received many accolades and produced many champions, however his proudest achievement was helping athletes – at all levels – realize their potential in the pool and in their lives. He was also a familiar face to me, personally, as an EGR graduate (Class of 1985). Joe gave back to the EGR community and to athletes in so many ways. Because of that reason, I am passionate about the continuation of this event.
For the most part, the race itself (logistics, course, time) remains the same but this year we hope to scale it up by intentionally engaging the EGR community, the businesses, and anyone that would like to take part in this frigidly fun race around our beloved Reeds Lake.
