TriMillennium is one of West Michigan’s longest-standing multi-sport events and a favorite among many local athletes. Located in the beautiful Millennium Park in Grand Rapids, MI, TriMillennium offers an Olympic and Sprint distance triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike. Our Olympic race features a 1,500-meter swim, 24.8-mile bike, and 6.2-mile run. Our Sprint distance race features a 750-meter swim, 12.4-mile bike, and 3.1-mile run. Relay options are available for both races.
The inland waters of Millennium Park are typically calm and pleasant, the surrounding roads follow the rolling terrain for the bike course, and the paved trails through the park are flat and fast, making TriMillennium a great race for the elite athlete looking for a summer “A” race, a beginner athlete looking to complete their first triathlon, or a primer race for those prepping for the MiTi half or full triathlon later in August. With professional timing from Trivium Racing and a full complement of volunteers and support on race-day, TriMillennium is a race for everyone.
TriMillennium is owned and operated by Bridge Street Ministries, a Christian urban youth ministry in Grand Rapids’ West Side, working to support the spiritual, academic, and social development of inner-city youth, leading them with a vision of hope and restoration and believing that they will be the future leaders of our community. 100% of the proceeds from TriMillennium will go to support this important work. This year are back at Richmond Park in the City of Grand Rapids. The 5K course will feature mowed grass, packed dirt, and gravel. Be sure to check out the course preview video below to get an idea of what XC running looks like! Also new this year is the FREE community 1 Mile Run, which is open to both youth & adults.
Here is an overview of the 2023 course, https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2330110. We expect the 2024 course to be similar. It will be well-marked with cyclists leading the way!
For more information on what cross country is, click the “Cross Country 101” section to your left or simply ask us.
We tried to make it as easy as we could for you to register and start your team (if you have one). The first person on your team to register has the ability to create the team. From there, that person can share the team name and a link for others to join. We also activated the features that allow you to change your team name and the type of team you have (female, male, coed). We are also happy to help with all of this.
If you don’t have a team yet (or don’t want the pressure of creating the team name), no worries! Go ahead and register yourself and we can help you unite with a team later.
When in doubt, ask! Remember, teams can range from 5 to 7 individuals, with only the top 5 places counting towards your score (with any other runners on your team helping to block other team members from securing lower points). Coed teams do not have a requirement for the number of males or females they have on them, just at least one member of the opposite gender.
The 5K portion of the event is chip-timed.
We have youth pricing turned on so anyone under the age of 20 will receive a $10 entry. If a high school team would like to register to participate, email us at lmcubridgerun@gmail.com for a special discount code.
Gazelle Sports has generously signed on board as an Awards Sponsor this year. They have helped us since the first year.
The FUN Run Mile participants are not eligible for awards. The FUN Run Mile is also not timed.
We are excited to be the July event in the 2024 Michigan Runner Race Series!

The Resolution Run tradition is about more than just miles; it’s about milestones. Every year, we gather to celebrate the progress we’ve made and the goals we’ve achieved, all while embracing the endless possibilities of the coming year. Make memories, make resolutions, and make the Resolution Run a cherished part of your New Year’s Eve tradition!
The 41st Annual Reeds Lake Resolution Run pulls over 400 runners and walkers for a 4.0-mile journey around Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids, MI. It takes place on New Years Eve at 3:30 PM, starting near the EGR Middle School and Finishing in front of Collins Park.
While this race is simply a fun tradition to many people, its history started back in 1982 by the late Joe O’Brien, who owned and worked for Classic Race until last year when he sadly and unexpectedly died. Though well-hidden to the outside world, Joe also sadly struggled internally.
Joe co-founded Genesis Sports, an EGR running store and worked diligently to build his race timing business, Classic Race Management. Through Classic Race, Joe enthusiastically supported thousands of runners each year and founded the Reeds Lake Triathlon and the annual New Year’s Resolution Run. For over 30 years Joe coached diving at East Grand Rapids High School and all across the region.
Throughout his coaching career he received many accolades and produced many champions, however his proudest achievement was helping athletes – at all levels – realize their potential in the pool and in their lives. He was also a familiar face to me, personally, as an EGR graduate (Class of 1985). Joe gave back to the EGR community and to athletes in so many ways. Because of that reason, I am passionate about the continuation of this event.
For the most part, the race itself (logistics, course, time) remains the same but this year we hope to scale it up by intentionally engaging the EGR community, the businesses, and anyone that would like to take part in this frigidly fun race around our beloved Reeds Lake.
